Welcome to the Integrity Audit! This is the exercise designed to give you the most effective shortcut from wherever you are now to full integrity.

How to Start

To get the most out of this practice, you need time & space:

Remember: this is a life changing practice. It’s not the kind of thing to half-ass.

I recommend that you use pen & paper to answer the writing prompts below.

Goal: Eliminate the Lies

The shortcut to integrity is to stop lying. The first step to this is to recognize all the ways in which you are currently lying. This includes: lies you tell others, lies you tell yourself, lies of omission and all kinds of dishonest behavior.

Once you face and own up to the lies in your life, you can start eliminating them one by one. In doing so, you set yourself free.

Prompts

Read through all of these prompts, then start writing. You don’t have to answer the exact prompts in the exact order, just write all the lies as they come to your awareness.

If you get stuck, refer back to the prompts to see if one of them sparks the next series of ideas.

What lies do you tell others?

Consider big, obvious lies - the kind where you’d be in big trouble if you got found out.

I told my family that I’ve overcome my addiction, but I secretly still drink/smoke/use.

I pretend like everything is fine in my relationship, but it’s not working for me and sometimes I just want to leave.

Also consider small, subtle lies, white lies, things you could easily get away with.

I tell people “let’s keep in touch” when I have no intention of seeing them again.

When someone asks me for feedback, I say positive things only, even if I can think of many things to improve.
